INTERNATIONAL THEME DAY |

|
All the international counselors have flags from their countries. These are used
all summer for flag raising, but this day we put them all up and have “booths” representing different countries. The staff designate a new “language” to
be used through out the day and campers buy-sell and trade between countries.
How did the activity increase international understanding and/or cultural
awareness among your campers and staff?
Fun shared by all as campers and staff really were all on the same level.
Knowledge of “bartering”, “haggling” and cultural differences exchanged. International staff play a key role in organizing.
