The YMCA is Your Sponsor
The US Department has designated the YMCA as a sponsor of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program
for Summer Work and Travel participants. As a participant on the Summer Work and Travel Program, international university students are eligible for J-1 visas and the opportunity to visit and experience the United States while also allowing them to fund their stay in America.
As a designated sponsor of the Work and Travel Program, the YMCA International Branch does more than just sponsor the participants DS-2019. We:

Verify the legitimacy and stability of host sites
Review applicants' resumes and confirm their English skills
Provide government mandated sickness and accident insurance
Offer administrative support
Provide participants with opportunities for community involvement.
