The YMCA is Your Sponsor

The US Department has designated the YMCA as a sponsor of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program for Summer Work and Travel participants.  As a participant on the Summer Work and Travel Program, international university students are eligible for J-1 visas and the opportunity to visit and experience the United States while also allowing them to fund their stay in America.
As a designated sponsor of the Work and Travel Program, the YMCA International Branch does more than just sponsor the participants DS-2019. We: 

 
  • Verify the legitimacy and stability of host sites
  • Review applicants' resumes and confirm their English skills
  • Provide government mandated sickness and accident insurance
  • Offer administrative support
  • Provide participants with opportunities for community involvement.
