Each year, ICCP
selects four or five individuals to receive program management training in our
New York office. Interns arrive in early January and are on the training
program for eight months. Upon
completion of the training, the individuals then return to their home country to
become ICCP recruiters, or to work with the existing ICCP recruiters.
Who
Can Qualify?
1.
Has been a participant on the ICCP program at least one summer.
2.
Has returned home at the end of that summer, in good visa standing.
3.
Received a favorable evaluation from the camp director.
4.
Is over age 25.
5.
Has an international driving license.
6.
Has a credit card.
How
to Apply?

During
the summer while you are here, submit a letter of application to the ICCP
office in New York. With the
letter, include your resume (curriculum vitae).

Include
a letter of favorable support (reference) from your camp director.

Include
a letter of favorable support (reference) from your home country recruiter
and/or YMCA, if available.

After
you have submitted all the above documents, call the ICCP office to arrange
for a time when you can come to our office in New York for a personal
interview. Applicants are NOT
considered without an interview.

All
interviews must be concluded by September 15th for the following
year.
Applicants
who are selected are notified by October 15th.
Upon their accepting the internship, they are issued an DS-2019 for the
8-month program. They apply for a
J-1 visa, make travel plans, and arrive in New York City in early January.
Living
and Working in New York City

Interns
train in our office Monday through Friday for 35 hours per week.
They are paid a stipend.

Interns
may live with friends or relatives, may secure their own housing, or may
live in a local YMCA and work there in exchange for their room.

While
here, interns have ample opportunity to enjoy the many events and
attractions that New York City has to offer.
