The International YMCA does not assist with visa application procedures or
contract negotiations.
It is your responsibility to get the visa and all other documents, such as exit visas, medical reports, proof of student status (for those in the YMCA Work/Travel Program), and proof of
certification
in specialties (for those in the International Camp Counselor Program).
For
Returning Staff/Direct Placement Program and YMCA Work/Travel Program participants:
You will need to clarify with your United States supervisor
who will be responsible for making international and domestic
travel arrangements, what date you are expected to arrive in
the United States, what your salary will be, when you will be paid, and what dates you are expected to be at the
site in the United States. Because the International YMCA won’t be overseeing your
arrangements with the host
organization, it is vital for you to stay
in contact with your supervisor in the weeks preceding your
arrival.
