YMCA Values
As a participant in a YMCA program, you will be
a role model to everyone with whom you come into contact. Whether or not your training site is a YMCA, you are a participant in a YMCA program. As such, you are expected to model sound
values. The YMCA challenge is to accept and demonstrate the YMCA of the USA’s four core values in everything you say and do:
Caring:
To love others; to be sensitive to the well
being of others; to help others.
Honesty:
To tell the truth; to act in such a way
that one is worthy of trust; to have integrity; to make sure one’s actions match one’s values.
Respect:
To treat others as you would have them
treat you; to value the worth of every person, including yourself.
Responsibility:
To do what you ought to do; to be account-able for
your behavior and obligations.
